During
a presentation of pitch, many factors play a part of the outcome. Whether it’s
to an investor or a possible business partner, if the pitch is unconvincing or
uninteresting they aren't going to give your idea a second glance. So to ensure
that you have an entertaining and insightful presentation that compliments your
idea, make sure to follow the following techniques.
DO:
Minimise word count- When presenting on PowerPoint,
try to reduce the amount of words on each slide. This will diminish the
distraction factor that it gives the audience; that way they can concentrate
more on the words you are actually saying. Show them that you don’t need a big,
fancy paragraph on a screen to slam them with a powerful speech about your
idea.
Rehearse- Make sure to practice the
presentation thoroughly in advanced. This will prevent mumbling and forgetting words or facts. When you're unprepared and haven't revised the content, your listeners will know. If you're unwilling to commit to your work, why would others?
